Topic ; homelessness

What are the issues;                                                                                                                             .Food and shelter Insecurity: The lack of shelter, coupled with food insecurity (not knowing where the next meal is coming from.

Who is affected?
More than 150,000 young people ask for help with homelessness every year.

Causes of homelessness are family arguments, Relationship arguments, Or being told or kicked out of their home, family violence.

Children that have nowhere to go or express their feelings are having problems with depression and anxiety.

When did this start?

The problem of homelessness at that period was a result of the King Philip’ War Of 1675-1676 against the native people. But as the war continued between the French and Indians, the securities of some families were threatened and forced many families to become refugees across the frontier areas like New England and New York. Many war veterans remained unemployed and others lost their properties to war and natural catastrophes, they spent most of their times in the streets.

how has it progressed?

The Progression of homelessness has slowly decreased and increased. Decreased because of all the company’s helping these there are in need for a cozy nonviolent house with fresh food and water

Increased because all the war and conflict in the world and people being involved in violent ways and treated differently to others and with bills and rates and wages for houses have gone up a lot of people can’t afford it and or have lost their job.

Where is this happening?

Homelessness is occurring all around the world. The poverty is common include in Southeast Asia, India , and South America ( Third world Countries). Most people that experience poverty lives on the outskirts of cities

Why is this happening?

Because people are having tragic life occurrences like family fights, relationship breakdowns, loss of loved ones, job loss Other stuff like depression, untreated mental illness, traumatic stress, disorders and physical disabilities are a why a large amount of people in the world are homeless.

Making Table Salt

Aim: To make sodium chloride crystals by neutralising an acid with a base (alkali)

Method:
1. Measure 10ml of hydrochloric acid (HCl) in the small measuring cylinder and pour into a 50ml beaker.
(include photo here)
2. Add dilute sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to the acid a few drops at a time while stirring with a glass stirring rod.
(include second photo here)
3. Use the glass stirring rod to transfer a drop of the solution to a spotting tile. Add a drop of universal indicator. Is it neutral? (green)
(include third photo here)
4. Once it is neutralised (pH = 7 - green) pour the liquid into an evaporating dish and heat till it boils slowly.
(include fourth photo here)

Observations: Write one observation for each step of the method.

1.salt water
2.sodium chloride water
3.hydrogen
4.hydroxide

Word equation for the reaction:

Balanced symbol equation for the reaction:

Making Copper Sulfate crystals

Aim:
To make copper sulfate crystals (salt) by neutralising copper oxide (base) with a sulfuric acid (HSO)

Method:
Follow the method on Page 39 of your Scipad book.

Observations: (write an observation for each key stage of the process - full sentences please)

1.
2.
3.

Results:
Add 3 photos for the final stages of the experiment to illustrate the process.

Conclusion(write a single sentence as conclusion - remember to look at your aim and write your conclusion as a response to your aim)
